Spring has finally begun to show itself here in the DC Metro area. That means it’s time to wash off the dirt and road salt, put on those summer tires, drop the top, open the windows and start motoring! April has been jammed with events and we’ll kick off May at the Dragon. If you have an idea for an event or would like to make one happen, let us know! Feel free to post ideas on our NAM forum or contact a board member.
Our 2008 annual meeting was held this past weekend at Funktion Auto. There was a good member turnout. Several aspects of club business were discussed and the general word was things are good. One of the most important parts of the annual meeting was the election of new board members.
The board has 7 positions, and each year there are either 3 or 4 positions open to election (the term is 2 years). This year we had 4 open positions and 3 incumbents. Those members staying on are Stacey Kim (MINInurse) as Vice President, Jaysen Kim (JustJAY) as Treasurer and Haemish Edgerton (Edge) as Secretary. The open positions have been filled by Katie Williams (Kgdblu) as President, Laura Dunlop (GreenCactus) as Editor of the club newsletter and Membership liaison, Alan Formy-Duval (Scavenger) as Board Member, and Enrique Zuloaga (Mr EZ) as Board Member.
The club is still in need of an Events Coordinator, if you are interested in taking on this role, please contact me for more information.
The time is almost here for our annual DCMM meeting! One of the most important parts of our annual meeting is an election of new board members. As you may not be aware, there are 7 board member positions, and each year there are either 3 or 4 positions open to election (the term is 2 years).
Stepping down from the board this year are Kurt Collins (Krut), Sam Carr (Sam). In addition, the temporary appointments of Chris Lekhavanija (Maxicooper) and Pawel (pyskacz) are up for election as well (they became interim board members after others stepped down last year).
Continuing on the board for the second year of their terms are Stacey Kim (MINInurse), Jaysen Kim (JustJAY) and Haemish Edgerton (Edge).
This means that 4 positions are open to re-election.
Get ready for Spring! Available in striking, black, blue or tan, they will accentuate you AND your MINI.
